Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in my first session?

During the first session there will be basic paperwork to complete and a few questions on your health. We will also discuss the contract together to help start building the foundation of how we will work and what to expect from me – respect, confidentiality and trust.

What can I talk about?

You can talk about anything you would like to bring.

Often childhood relationships and experiences can impact on our emotions and life choices now and you will have an opportunity to explore these if you would like to.

How often and how long?

Sessions are usually weekly and are for one hour. The number of sessions planned can be for a few weeks or longer term with reviews – we will plan a first review after 6 sessions.

What if I miss a session?

I require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or to move a session. If cancelled after this notice period then you will be charged in full.

How do I pay?

I take cash and bank transfers to be paid on the day of the counselling appointment.
